Sandown trip............

Evening all, just an update on the sandown trip yesterday. Create and craft took over the organisation of the show.

We arrived early, so that we could park easily. They let people in who were doing the make and take into the foyer. Others like me had to wait in the small cafe area. Couldn't get a coffee there though, as it wasn't opened. So stood there for 20 mins waiting for 10am and the doors to be opened. No-one took tickets from us, so could have quite easily gone back today. We went straight to the cafe area inside for a coffee, before starting shopping. Saw Deano from c&c walk by.....didn't acknowledge anyone just shouted to someone "going up to the office" and disappeared. Did think that he could have smiled at us all and welcome us (but as camera not on him he didn't bother).

Anyway, as time went on it got busier and busier, so that it was harder to look at the stalls. C&c had a big section in the centre of the stalls where they were filming live. Wasted space !!!!

There was another part of the venue where you could queue up to have a photo taken with the presenters, needless to say, I didn't bother with that!!!!

I had arranged to meet my friends at lunch time for a catch up. Nowhere to sit. Cafe area was packed solid so couldn't be bothered to buy another coffee. Went back out to the cafe area, where we had first had to wait to see if there were any chairs there - same there - busy. So we opened the doors and brought some chairs in that were for outside sitting into the cafe area so at least we were able to sit down and eat.

We then had a quick look around again before setting off for home. When we went back out to the car park it was chaos!!! Cars double parked and parking all on the grass verges. My friend had heard someone say that it took them 4 hours to get to car park ( not sure if they meant they were waiting outside for 4 hours of whether the whole trip took 4 hours)

Have to say I was slightly disappointed in the show, although I did buy a few things lol!!!!
I would have preferred it to be over 4 days rather than 2.

I hope if they run it again in September it will be organised better.

If any of you went please let me know want you thought. Xx

A Spring-Like Card.....

Afternoon all, a bit late in the day to start blogging, but been out to Bluewater with hubby this morning.....so had to stop for coffee and cakes (as he was paying LOL !!)

On Tuesday, at my craft club, Sandy had this lovely die by Anna Griffin. Of course, everyone wanted to get it, so by the end of the session we had ordered 7 on-line. Bargain price too at only £11.21 from Amazon with no p&p !!.

But luckily for me I had taken some card in to run a few off, while I'm waiting for mine to arrive. I inked through the die using Cosmic Shimmer cloud blending ink in "fresh grass & pretty in pink".

Last night i layered onto pink linen card and then plain white card, which i then used the fresh grass blending ink to soften around the edges.
I used a quickie glue pen and some glitter to high-light areas on the flowers. (not sure if the photo shows up to well)
The banner across the centre is from Spellbinders, in white card, which i have used the inks the do "dots". The wording is from Robert Addams dies.

Off to Sandown on Saturday for the craft show. It's being run by a different company this year and only on at the weekend, rather than from Thursday to Sunday, so will probably be a lot busier.

Have fun, what-ever you are doing. x

"Owl've Passed !!!!"

Morning all, a quick blog today, and a change from the norm.....

I decided, for no other reason than i liked it, to knit this owl. It comes from "Jean Greenhowe's knitted animals book 303". I have this and other books by her for years and years, but I'll never get rid of them, as the toys are still lovely to knit now as they were 25 years ago!!!!
It stands at 6 inches tall, and would make a lovely gift for any student out there studying at University.

Weather here in Kent is decidedly warmer - so of course, heating turned off !!!
It's been quite a cheap year for gas (actually got a refund for once!!!).

Hope it's as nice where ever you are.....enjoy your day. x

A Quarter done.....can you tell what it is yet????

Morning all, hope you are enjoying your weekend so far.

I have at long last managed to complete the first quarter of my cross- stitch. It's only taken me 18 months or so, to complete. I must admit, that i did start on the most intense part of the pattern.

I have set myself a target of completing the whole design by the end of the year.....so watch this space LOL !!!!
I have to have my glasses on, plus use a magnifying glass to see the stitches and the pattern.....and the light has to shining directly on it for me to be able to sew........I'm not really blind as a bat LOL !!!

What are you up to this weekend???

Thanks for popping by x

Another Key-ring and Card Set.....

 Morning all, Saturday today.....hooray !!!!!

Here is another card and Key-ring set today, but this time a Panda !!
Using the Die-version die that i used to create the Lion.

I promise I wont bore you with anymore tomorrow LOL !!!!

On the card, for the panda's eyes I used a white gel pen to add a small dot in the top corner of the black circle to make them glisten...
Had a few people looking at my card and key-ring on ebay....but no bids as yet. Will keep you informed.

Have a good day. x

Thanks......

Morning all, many thanks for your comments regarding the key ring & card set. Mostly you agreed that they would sell, but maybe not at £5.00.....as people don't want to pay the true value of things when you sell at a craft stall.

I decided to test the waters..so to speak, by putting the card & key ring on ebay, with a starting price of £3.50 & postage. I will let you know how i get on

If it doesn't sell i wont mind as I've got some friends birthdays coming up soon that would like the key ring as a gift. I also thought of making a few and taking them down to the local garden centre to see if they would be interested as Valentines Day will soon be approaching.

On that note ......here is today's blog......

A card and key-ring set using the Marianne Designs Die of the OWL...

I love Owls ......don't you? I've been looking on pinterest at owly things and have a few projects that I would like to have a go at.

I forgot to tell you the die for the lion on Tuesday. It's from Die-Versions and is called "I heart you animals" It's one large die that contains all the bits and pieces for you to create up to 8 different animals.
The oval piece behind the owl is from Heartfelt Creations.

The owl key-ring.

Weather is brightening up here in Kent, hope it's the same where you are. Enjoy the weekend. x

Your Opinion Counts.......

Morning all, I need your help today. I want to know your opinions on making a card and key-ring set. The card is 6 x 6 and the key-ring is made from foam sheets.

I was hoping to sell the set for £5.00.....what do you think??

Please leave your thoughts in the comment box .... good or bad LOL xx

I've gone back to my old ways already !!

Morning all, well it's the 18th January....and my intention of making smaller cards has fallen by the wayside......have you given up any new years resolutions yet????

I consoled myself with the fact, that i will need larger cards for those that i deliver by hand.....so might as well have beads on it too LOL !!

I used the "Go create die :- square frame frilly #7". I've only got a few dies by Go create, and i must use them more often, because they are such lovely shaped dies.

The small christmas scene is from Sue Wilson.
Have a good day, if you are working. Hope there's no snow where you are. Keep safe. x

Getting Slightly Bigger !!!.....

Morning all, Sunday here again, comes around quick doesn't it???

Well, the making small cards has lasted only a week, before I start making bigger ones LOL !!! Just can't help myself LOL !!

This card is only slightly bigger at 8 x 6 (wont be long before I'm back making 8 x 8 cards and moaning about the postage costs !!

I folded an A4 piece of grey card not quite in half so that the front was about 1cm narrower. I then added the background card and the "left over" bit i added to the inside of the card.

The topper and the background card was part of a set. The colours match perfectly with my stitching and beads.
The Happy Birthday on the front is a Spellbinders die.

Enjoy what's left of the weekend. I've been tinkering with some ideas of making a card with a matching keyring. I have made some keyrings out of foam sheets and now just to need to make the cards. Pop by again this week to see if I've completed them.... or just pop by to see the keyrings. xx

A Birthday Card..... very pale......

Morning all, hope you are enjoying your weekend so far....

Today's card is a birthday card - again a small 6 x 6 one - suitable for posting.

I still cant seem to photograph pale cards properly. As you can see with the two photos, you cant really see the colours properly.

The thread that i used for the stitching is a varigated pale coloured thread. I choose a topper and backing paper from "Trimcrafts - Fizzy moon". A pale pink gem in each corner is all the embellishments that i have used.
Thanks for stopping by. x

Last Christmas card.... for now !!!

Morning all, the last of the small Christmas cards today. These really didn't take too much effort or time to create. In each one the small amount of stitching, for me, makes them a little different from the norm. The toppers don't need any additional work to them - although i could have decoupaged them.  All i did on this topper, is to cut off the bottom strip by cutting around the bow at the bottom. This is then added over the stitching for a nicer effect.
Tomorrow there will be a birthday card to break the monotony.

Have a good day and see you again on Saturday x

3rd Christmas Card.....

Another day, another small Christmas card LOL !!!!

Hope you're not getting bored yet, another day to go and then there will be a birthday card !!!!

Again, as per the last few days, a small amount of stitching and a topper from Hunkydory. When i bought these small pads from Hunkydory i flipped through the images and liked most of them. I think I have enough toppers to make Christmas cards for the rest of the century LOL !!! The images are so cute and printed on good quality paper too.
The stitching.....reminds me of the Maltese Cross.... x

2nd small Christmas Card.....

Morning all, 2nd day of small Christmas cards from me (2 more to go !!).
Again, I've kept this card really simple. A small amount of stitching - just on one side. The topper again from "Hunkydory", a sentiment, and a few small gems. Backed onto striped backing paper, which lifts the image.
I didn't realise when i had taken the photo, but the gem needs sticking down again....have done this now.

Come back again soon for another card.... x

Small Christmas Cards.....

Morning all, well i've spent the last couple of days, making some smaller (6 x 6) Christmas cards. I've also kept them simple to avoid postage costs.
A simple stitched card with a topper from "hunkydory - mini-pads cute Christmas". I cut around the bears, rather than having the whole topper. Backed onto red and white polka dot paper. I haven't added a greeting as yet.

Hope you are back into the swing of crafting. Thanks for popping by , and see you again soon. x

Oh, btw, I've added some more flowers to my book folded vase - I think it looks better now. What do you think?

MAWTT Challenge:- "Spots & Dots"

Morning all, MAWTT Challenge again. This time it's Jessie's turn to choose the theme. She has chosen "Spots & Dots".

I have used a woodware stamp of a butterfly. You can use "candi" to fill the dots, but i chose a combination of liquid pearls, 3d pearl effect glue and glitter glue.I chose shades of purples, pinks and blues to make blobs on each dot.

Once it had dried, i cut the butterfly out and then layered onto black card. I then got a layer of black and a layer of mauve and stuck one onto the other, then used a dotty embossing folder to emboss both pieces of card at the same time.

The background paper is mauve and white polka dots.

Check out the rest of the DT cards, or why not enter yourself?? Good luck x

Book Folded Vase now Decorated.....

Morning all, a little late with my blog this morning, forgot to take photos last night.

I've now done a bit of crafting !! This book folded vase i did before Christmas, but this is the first chance I've had to decorate.

I've used artificial ivy and a large red flower on top. Not sure if it needs some more flowers on top, rather than just one. But, I'll live with for now and see how I feel later.
With the folds I've used promarkers and coloured in with red & black alternate.
Then I added a red ribbon and bow around the centre.
Looking down from above.

My craft club is back on today, so looking forward to seeing everyone again and doing some stitching on cards.

Have a good day. x

Happy New Year!!!.......

Morning all, hope you're all well and happy, and that you've all had a wonderful Christmas. I seem to be stuck in a void, I've got lots of plans and ideas for things to do and create, but I can't seem to be able to start anything. I go into my craft room, to do some crafting, but end up just looking through things or tidying up and getting rid of rubbish.

I hope my mojo comes back soon, and that I can blog again.

I am continuing with my cross stitch, and have almost completed the first quarter. I am determined to finish it this year.

Enjoy your Sunday, xxx
