The Last Day of July....and the last Bubble card LOL !!!!!

Morning All, well here we are on the last day of July. The weather will be getting colder and the nights will be drawing in. Time to put the heating on ..........or am I exaggerating just a tad LOL !!!!

The last of the bubble cards too, and this one is for Christmas. "Woodware - JDC561"
I have coloured in the bow/swirl with silver gel pen. I have used silver candi and silver liquid pearls on the bell.

I used Martha Stewart corner die for the snow flakes and then I cut a straight line down to the other corner, so that  the snowflake stood out a bit more. Where the stamped image went past that line I have cut around it, so that each end of the bow extends past the card.
Well now that I've exhausted the bubble stamps, what next??????
Stay tuned in folks LOL !!!! x

Think I Might have saved the best to last (almost!!!!)

Morning all, here we are on the penultimate day of bubble cards.

This one is called "Woodware- JGS355 Festive tree". Although a Christmas stamp, using the colours that I have, it's just an ordinary tree.
I think it's quite a masculine card. The background Papers are from the Docrafts magazine called "Forever Friends - Classic Decadence"  The black and gold paper screams out "Art Deco" to me, so I teamed it up with the Tonic die, in black and gold. I have added some lovely art deco shaped gems.
I used a gold gel pen to draw around the backing paper and also around the tree panel onto the black card. I have used a black card blank too.

The black and gold sentiment - completes the card.....I think my favourite so far.........what do you think? do you have a favourite? please leave a comment and let me know.

Bye for now. x

Bubble Card # 6

Morning all, another bubble card I'm afraid.....me thinks I've got too many of these stamps LOL !!!

Today's one is "Woodware- JGS392 Michelle".
Spellbinders flowers (old die - cant remember the name) fern leaf from Memory Box and the striplet is a Tattered lace one free with a magazine (belongs to a friend).
The candi is called "Afternoon tea".

Just two more of these cards to show and then I'll let you have a rest LOL !!!

See you again soon. x

Bubbles Everywhere !!!!!!!!

Morning All, another day, another bubble card LOL !!!! I do hope you're not getting bored with these cards as I have a few more to show you (sorry !!!!!)

This one is called "Woodware - JGS290 Felicity".

I have used plain pink candi and pink liquid pearls on this image. I have even used the liquid pearls on the leaves...see photo below to see more detail. I used a small paint brush and spread the liquid pearls over the leaves and then as it was drying, did brush strokes to make the veins on the leaf.

I have Martha Stewart punch around the page punches - but they don't work on a rectangle so I did 2 strips on the front piece, then did the 4 corners on the piece behind.

Ihave used an embossing folder on Co'ordenations card and then using sandpaper rubbed over the embossed card to show the pink through the black.
Tune in again tomorrow for some more of the same !!! x

Bubble Card.....continues !!!

Morning all, hope you all had a fab weekend. The start of the summer holidays now, 6 weeks of glorious sunshine...... (we hope !!!).

This is another bubble stamp card, Woodware JGS318 Snow Flower. This is meant to be a Christmas stamp, probably mistletoe, but by using different colours it turns it into something else. I have used animal stripe candi and matted and layered in browns and blacks. Quite a masculine card I think.
I used two different corner punches on the layers to create a different look, as normally I would use the same corner punch on each layer.
I layered the sentiment onto some black paper and cut around leaving a small border.

Come back tomorrow for more bubble cards.

Great Day Out.

Morning all, hope you are all well and happy.

I had a lovely day, yesterday, at "Crafts u love". They had a demo day, with an auction, card competition and raffle.

I was one of the lucky ones who won a prize in the raffle - which was an assortment of dies and stamps.

The first one hundred people who bought something also received a goody bag (which of course, I managed to buy something......or two.....or ten !!!!) The goody bag contained an assortment of crafting goods.

Refreshments were on sale along with cakes......

So all in all a lovely day was had by all !!

Just cant wait to get into my craft room and start playing with my goodies !!!!

Stop by tomorrow for more of my bubble cards. x

Bubble Bloom Card # 3

Morning all, Hope you are all well and happy. Today I should be at Crafts u Love for a demo day, so I have scheduled this post. Will report tomorrow on how today was.

Another Bubble card using the "Woodware stamp- Carol JGS390" It also has a sentiment "hello sunshine, goodbye rain, happy days are here again" but I didn't use it on this card.
I used orange candi with a gold stripe on this card. Promarkers to colour in the leaves and around the edge of the design. A trellis die (Spellbinders) and a shaped die (Sue Wilson) are all that I have used.
2 strips of ribbon across the centre - one striped green and on top an orange ribbon.

Enjoy your day. x

A Handbag or Gift box.....

Morning All, Friday again, another week whizzing by !!!
Hope you are all well & happy and looking forward to the weekend. I know I am, as tomorrow I am going to "Craftsulove" to see Christine Emberson doing a demo. There will be other demonstrators there too. It's at Charlwood in Surrey, so it's back on M25......
On Wednesday night I meet up with friends at a friends house for a crafting evening (along with lots of chatter, laughs & coffee with cake !!!). This is what we made. We cheated a little as the handbags were cut out using a Silhouette machine.....but we did assemble and decorate.
 The dimensions are:- 5  (w) x 2.5 (d)  x 5.5 (h) inches.
Would make a sweet gift bag.

Have a great weekend, and if you are able to , pop down to Crafts u Love....might see you there x

Bubble Bloom Card....

Morning All, hope you are all well and happy this Thursday.
I took my son home on Monday, traffic bad on M25 - as normal by Heathrow Airport, but otherwise ok. It was a hot and humid day, and I felt really hot and tired by the time I had returned home. It's amazing how driving can wear you out !!!.

My craft room is back to normal now, and I can start doing things LOL !!!

On Friday at my craft group I had stamped several images using the "Woodware bubble stamps". I then started using my candi and filling in the dots covered as much as I could during the session. Once home and in my craft room I am trying to see how many different designs of cards I can make.
This stamp is called "Christina - JGS307". I have used pale aqua with silver stripe candi as well as liquid pearls in mint green. I have used promarkers to colour in the leaves and stem of the flower. The die across the bottom is "Sue Wilson - French collection", which I layered onto white hammer card and then cut round. I used a fine nib gel pen and whilst the card was still in the die drew around the ovals across the bottom of the die.
The additional bow and wording completes the card.

Hopefully, now that full crafting has resumed, I will be able to show more designs throughout the rest of the week.

Thanks for stopping by, and have a great day. x

Butterfly in a Frame.

Morning all, Monday again, I hope you are all well and happy and that you had a good weekend.

I managed to sneak into the craft room  on Sunday, whilst Daniel was visiting other members of the family, to finish off this butterfly.
The stamp is from "Woodware - JGS252 Bubble Butterfly" . I stamped it onto white hammer card. Then using candi, buttons and flat backed pearls in pale shades - "filled" the dots.

I've added some glamour dust onto the body of the butterfly, after I had coloured it in using pale pink promarkers.

I had this frame with nothing in it from my stash. Luckily it fitted perfectly.

Today I should be driving Daniel back to Oxford, which takes 2 hrs each way (depending on traffic) from here in Kent.

Have a great day, thanks for stopping by and see you again soon. x

Going for Gold !!!!!!

Morning all, I've scheduled this post yesterday, so hopefully it's appeared Saturday Morning. I hope you are all well and happy.

My Son should be here sleeping in my craft room (his old bedroom) so I wont have a blog tomorrow. (might be able to sneak in and do something for Monday LOL!!)

This stitched and beaded card I have done in gold thread & beads. In the latest issue of Docrafts magazine there were some free papers, of Forever Friends at Christmas. Some are foiled papers, including this one that I have used. I had a peel-off of the forever friends bear which I stuck onto white card and then with watercolour pencils, coloured in. I've added a silver grey frame around the stitching (Tonic dies), as well as using as a layer behind the paper. Because the paper wasn't wide enough, I've used 2 sheets and joined - I then covered with the gold and grey ribbon to disguise.

I've used peel-off letters in silver to spell "merry Christmas".

Hope you all enjoy your weekend, whatever you are doing, and thanks for stopping by. x

Black Friday???.....no it's Black Reindeer!!!

Good Morning all. Hope you are all well and happy.  We'd all hate another "black Friday" so here's a black reindeer instead.....although he's black, he is still happy !!

A very simple stitched and beaded design. Not a lot of decoration. The embossing folder (from Crafters companion) has been inked over after I had run it through the GC. I just used an ink pad and keeping the pad at an even speed, rubbed it over the embossed card in lines one way and then in the other way.
This lovely chipboard reindeer I bought ages ago - I think it was from "Every crafts a pound" website, so was cheap. I used a permanent marker in black and coloured it in. I then used a silver gel pen and drew an eye on the reindeer and also around the stars that were cut out of the reindeer. I added a thin silver ribbon onto the "Loop" on the reindeer's back.
I've used peel-offs in the corners and also the sentiment, which I layered onto black paper and cut out, leaving a small border.
I love this embossing folder (which is new) and I've lots of other ideas that I cant wait to develop.....so watch this space LOL !!

Have a great weekend. My son, Daniel, should be home tonight for the weekend....cant wait to see him again. xx

OWL Pincushion !!!

Morning all, happy Thursday!!!!!

In issue 60 of the "Docrafts Creativity" magazine, there were instructions on how to make this pin cushion owl using the XCut die of the large owl.

Well, I don't have that die, but I was sure I could come up with something similar.
 Here is my effort !!
I first cut a slice off the bottom of a polystyrene ball and added 2 layers of a circle cut out in card. I then glued the wooden cotton reel to that and then added 2 layers of card again for the base.
I have used a dahlia strip die from Die'sire (which you would normally roll up to make the flower). I cut loads and loads in lilac felt and using the red super sticky tape, stuck it around a polystyrene ball. It took nearly 2 sheets of A4 felt for the feathers, but I wanted a plump owl, so he needed extra layers!!!!
I drew a rough template for the shape of the head piece and the beak. The eyes are 2 circles of felt, with 2 flower shapes cut out of felt and then 2 "Googly" eyes have been added.  The white mark on the beak is where the glue isn't dry and I couldn't wait so I added some red tape to stick it with. The glue is cosmic shimmer so will disappear once dry.
Again, I drew a rough wing in paper, then cut out in slightly stiffer felt.
 Underneath view of the owl.

Of course, as he will sit beside my sewing machine in my craft room, he had to be shades of purple !!!!!

It just goes to show that if you see something you like, but you don't have the right stuff to make it .......improvise !!!!. This project didn't cost me anything except, a polystyrene ball and some felt !!!! all of which I had in my stash. Probably cost less than £2.00.
It just takes time.

Have a great day, and see you again soon.

A Storage Unit....

Good Morning all, Hope you're all well and happy and enjoying your day.

I've made this from a project in "cardmakingandpapercrafts" magazine last month. In the magazine they had a M.D.F one that you could buy from "Candy Box Crafts" -but I thought I would have a go myself using card. I first made the bottom layer by cutting a 5.5 x 5.5 inch square in cardboard (from a dog food box - not quite as thick as corrugated cardboard). Then I made the dividing piece by cutting two strips of card and cutting a slot in the top of one and a slot in the bottom of the other piece and then sliding together by the slits. Then I made the 4 boxes to sit in between the cross over piece. Then added another 5.5 x 5.5 inch square of cardboard to sit on the top. Then I made a box to sit on top of that, and again made the dividing parts by slotting pieces of card and joining together. Decorated in similar coloured and patterned paper. Then I used washi - tape around the edges and on the dividing pieces to add more strength.

I added small resin flowers as my handles on the 4 boxes at the bottom layer.
The magazine had more compartments in the top - but I thought 6 was enough.

It's not perfect - but I've enjoyed making it.

Thanks for stopping by.

See you again soon. x

Batman Book Folding

Morning all, hope you are all well & happy.  I have finally finished this book folding project, just in time for my son Daniel, who is coming home for the weekend.

He has loved batman since he was about 2 (he's 25 now!!). Last Saturday night he did a sponsored charity walk through Oxford Town City during the night. The theme was superheroes, but he said that not everyone dressed up. He, of course, dressed up as Batman. He said people kept coming up to him to ask if they could take his photo, even the local radio station took his photo !!!

This is my Daniel, not a very clear photo as it was taken at night on a mobile phone, but he will hopefully have an official photo taken my the organisers for me to have.

For those of you who don't know, Bruce Wayne is Batman!!!!

I got some images from the internet for the front, back and insides of the book. I am pleased with the results. I did have this in mind to give it to him at Christmas, but for all his hard work I think he deserves a treat now.

I typed Bruce Wayne on my computer for the spine of the book.

Looking forward to seeing him on Friday night.

Have a great day, thanks for coming by, and see you again soon. x
