October Card Challenge

This is my entry for the October card challenge in my craft group. The stitching pattern and the die we had to use were given to us at the end of September. I decided to split the card diagonally and use 2 colours. and swap the sections over on each side. It was a bit of a pain trying to cut the wording in half, but I think the overall effect is nice.

2 birthdays - at different ages.

Here are 2 things that I have made for friends birthdays. The first one is in a frame. The gentleman will be 90 years old and loves his garden and making bird houses. He also does a lot of voluntary work but still finds time to tend his garden. I choose this image from Jayne Netley Mayhew decoupage sheets.

This card is for my friends granddaughter. She will be 10 years old and very much a "girlie" girl who loves baking with her grandmother.

Two cards at both ends of the life - both enjoy life to the full.

Some stitched cards ready for Christmas.

These stitched cards I have kept simple and small (approx. 6 x 6). The first one I have added a bauble (from spellbinders dies) and the wording (from Robert Addams dies).
This card I have also embossed. I have added some decoupage and wording.
and finally this card which again has been embossed. I added tiny hobbydots instead of sequins or beads which were smaller. The wording as before. All cards have been layered onto co-ordinating card and then mounted onto a white card.
TIME FOR TEA

Another teapot and cup set that I have made. This time I have done the teapot slightly different, as in, I have made the opening at the top so that more can be put into the teapot.
I have made this for my mum for Christmas. Don't know yet what the present will be.....will have to wait for Santa !!.

A prickly customer !!

It was my friend's birthday this week. She likes hedgehogs so I did this cross stitch card for her. I also made a little hedgehog that she could attach to her handbag. I used a plastic grid (like material but made out of plastic- not sure what it is called) and made the shape of a hedgehog. Then using brown wool I applied in the same way as you would make a rug. The face is done by doing cross stitch in beige wool. I then did a brown French knot for the eye and overstitch the front for the nose. I then backed the piece with beige felt and attached a key ring fob.

Anyone for Tea ?????

This teapot and cup set I have made following on from my handbag that I made earlier. (see below for photos). I was given the template to make the teacup, which I had made as a gift for a friend's birthday. So I decided to see if I could make a teapot to go with it. I found a teapot shape which I enlarged and added an aperture in the centre. Then it was just a matter of deciding what depth I wanted before I made the box to fit inside the aperture. I thought I could make a teapot and cup as a gift set for a couple. One could have teabags in and the other could have biscuits, or both could have a selection of sweets etc.

I hope you agree that it's a nice gift. x

A buzzing card.......

This card I have made for a friends birthday this week. She likes large cards so I decided to a large easel card. I have used the images from "A walk in the countryside" cd rom. I made the sunflowers and the little bee at the front.

A Handbag with a difference !!!!

This is the handbag with a difference that I have just made. It is all out of card and paper and consists of 3 drawers in the centre with a handbag design around.

I first made the drawers. This then decided the size of my bag. On a piece of paper I marked out the size of the drawers and then drew a shape of a handbag around it. I cut the shape out of card and stuck to front and back. I then added handles and decorated. Since I took these photos I have added some pattern paper to the top of the handles as when I saw them here I thought they looked a little plain.

Another 2 sleighs one for a girl and one for a boy!!!

I decided to make another 2 sleighs as Christmas presents for my friends grandchildren.
 Pink for a girl........
..... and blue for a boy.

I decided to decorate them the same - so there's no arguing on the day. I intend to fill them with sweets or a small present on the day.

Christmas Sleigh....ho..ho..ho !!!!

This is the Christmas Sleigh that I have made - using a template. I cut 4 pieces of red card - 2 for each side. I used 2 each side to strengthen the sleigh as I want to add a small present inside. Embossed one for each side and then stuck together with the central panel attached. I have used Spellbinders "Poinsettia" dies in gold and red. The sentiment below was from a Christmas card that I received last year (it's good to recycle !!)

I have used little gold bells sewn onto red thread to hang at the back of the sleigh.
At the front I have put 2 small wreaths, and some ribbon.

Gift card set.

This card/notelet set I have made after Sandy gave a demo on Friday at craft club. I have made 9 cards using the same theme and colour ways. There are matching envelopes.
 Inside the folder.
The cards/notelets. I tried to keep the sentiments simple so as to be used for any occasion.
A Velcro dot keeps the folder shut
